Welcome
to the Meditation Garden
A serene spot to just “be”…
Inspired by meditation gardens and
arboretums in the Pacific Northwest, Melissa constructed her meditation
garden with the intention of providing her patients with a serene space to
reflect, meditate and alleviate the stress of everyday life. Melissa has
always viewed nature as a healing force and a saving grace for herself.
“Without words, nature shows us how interconnected all things are,” says
Melissa. Taking a moment in nature helps us slow down and take a deep
breath.
The Meditation Garden features a myriad of
flowers, plants, herbs, and a waterfall fountain that generate a sense of
tranquility throughout the garden. Melissa opened her San Marco
clinic in 2006. She has been practicing in Jacksonville since fall of 2004,
after relocating from Seattle, WA. Her clinic was one of the first in
Jacksonville to offer a full raw Chinese herbal dispensary. After a few
years of practice, Melissa realized that her patients needed a space to
escape the stress and strain of a growing city. “It seems many major
cities have Japanese gardens and magical spots within their crowded
confines,” said Melissa. “We can’t always get away to the mountains or a
national park within a work week.”
Melissa’s
vision is to create and offer a sacred space nearby to escape the stress and
strain of a growing city and a stressful busy life. The hope is that the
garden will provide a peaceful, meditative place within the city … just to
“be”.
In
the spirit of a friendship garden, Melissa would like to extend a sincere
thank you to all of the individuals who gave lovely gifts, plants, and their
time and hard work from their heart to make this space special for all of
us. Thank you!
