Melissa Smith’s Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Clinic provides holistic healing using Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, often in combination, according to each patient's individual needs. This type of holistic therapy focuses on healing the body as a whole, while taking care of any immediate discomforts, without the negative side effects of chemically-based medicine.

Melissa also works with her patients using such treatment modalities as Acupuncture, Diet Therapy, massage (Tui na), Cupping, Moxibustion, TDP Lamp, Acupressure, and Dermal Friction Technique (Gua Sha). Melissa feels it is very important to educate and empower her patients.In that spirit, patients, are active participants in their own healing process.  Melissa gives patients the time it takes to answer their questions to become knowledgeable in how to gain the most benefit from their treatment.  Therefore, when working with you, we will decide together the best style of treatment for you and your specific needs. Your path to healing begins with identifying and addressing barriers to health, followed by a series of sessions that focus on bringing your body back to a state of wellness and balance.

Each treatment is individually tailored to meet the patient’s present illness or condition. The placement of the needles and the number of visits are determined by the patient’s condition. Similarly, the herbal treatment is tailored to meet each patient’s needs.

There is the belief in Chinese Medicine that when the body is in balance, the body's qi (energy) can flow freely. A balanced body is free of pain and illness, resulting in more energy and empowering the body to heal itself.

¨ Return Acupuncture visit - 45-60 minutes

¨ Massage or Tui na visit - 30, 60 or 90 minutes

¨ AcuMassage visit - one hour acupuncture visit combined with a half hour massage

¨ Couples fertility consultation

¨ Pre and Post IUI or IVF acupuncture treatment
